Yes, there is a dietician on campus who is very cautious about all allergies

Yes they would be open to suggestions!

Describe your biggest challenge managing your food restrictions at college and how you deal with it

Sometimes the options are the same and I resort to eating grilled chicken, rice, and a salad

Advice for Incoming Students:

Housing:

Did your food restrictions impact your housing decisions?  Any dorm recommendations

No! You can room with whoever you want and you will be good just make sure they know you have food allergies!

Dining Halls:

Any advice for managing dining halls?  Favorite dining halls? Any to avoid?

If you have questions, ask!

Meal Plans:

Describe your meal plans over the year(s). What's mandatory? Any suggestions? 

Dorms:

Any advice for eating in the dorms? Favorite snacks? Places that deliver? 

DoorDash is a lifesaver some nights! Stock up on your favorite snacks and some microwaveable meals, make sure you have a fridge/ freezer for those snacks too!

Getting Started:

What should students do before school starts or when they first arrive?

Make sure you talk with either the chef or someone of authority about any allergies

Socializing:

Advice on managing parties or dinners out with friends?

Be careful and aware of your surroundings!
