Rationale for Grades Given

The 5 has an allergy free station with some readily available safe foods. I can also text in a request for fresh made menu options.

There are some Amari g restaurants and bakeries in Baton Rouge that I’ve been able to eat at safely. Fwiw there is only one celiac safe breakfast restaurant.

I get migraines, vomiting, and neuropathy in my legs when even a trace of gluten is on my food. Depending on the amount of gluten I eat I will be sick anywhere from a day to a month.

My dr sent a letter advising of my symptoms and diagnosis. Disabilities contacted me and set up a plan if I get glutened to allow extra time for assignments & exams. They also approved me to not have a communal bathroom. They approved me to have an extra fridge & cooking devices

Are there resources to help with nutritious, safe dining (e.g. dietician)? If yes, describe

I spoke with the head dietician chef before I attended and then met with her during welcome week.

If you were in charge of dining, what would you change? Would your school be open to suggestions?

If the other dining hall had an allergy free station that might be helpful.

Describe your biggest challenge managing your food restrictions at college and how you deal with it

Remembering that I have to order the special meals 30 minutes in advance.

Housing:

Did your food restrictions impact your housing decisions?  Any dorm recommendations

Speak with the disability office to make sure you don’t have a communal bathroom.

The 5 is great. I havent’ tried 459 so I can’t comment on the food in that dining hall

A meal plan is mandatory and I bought the smallest plan knowing I would also cook in my room

Any advice for eating in the dorms? Favorite snacks? Places that deliver? 

Lots of safe places on Uber eats that I’ve take. advantage of. I make chicken nuggets and eggs in my room f

I’m from out of state where my friends were super understanding. Coming here I have found the same; my friends have all been great about it. I don’t drink so that hasn’t been an issue for me
