I was diagnosed after I moved off campus but still felt that I had plenty of options in my dining halls. A manager would come speak to me and prepare my food separately in the back. Many items were labeled as well

There were a few great places but they were all about 20 min away so it’s difficult unless you have a car

Totally yes, was what I expected

Yes, I was also given the name of the manager of every dining hall and was able to speak to all of them about my needs

Are there resources to help with nutritious, safe dining (e.g. dietician)? If yes, describe

Yes the chefs are very knowledgeable from my experience

If you were in charge of dining, what would you change? Would your school be open to suggestions?

I felt my school was very good about allergies. They had a separate fridge for allergy friendly foods as well such as different milk opens

Describe your biggest challenge managing your food restrictions at college and how you deal with it

I was diagnosed with celiac halfway through college so learning how to handle the new diet plus figuring out the dining halls was challenging at first

Any advice for managing dining halls?  Favorite dining halls? Any to avoid?

Speak to the cooks/managers. They are there to help you. All of them were specially trained about celiac from what I saw

Meal Plans:

Describe your meal plans over the year(s). What's mandatory? Any suggestions? 

We had meal swipes and dining dollars. The amount you received/paid for depended on your year

Dorms:

Any advice for eating in the dorms? Favorite snacks? Places that deliver? 

HUGE fan of chipotle. Always bring a small snack in your bag when visiting a friends dorm so you have something to eat

Speak to the dining hall managers

Advice on managing parties or dinners out with friends?

Don’t be reckless and drink/eat whatever. Always bring a snack with you that you know is safe
