Rationale for Grades Given
Our dining hall has a plethora of options that never fail to meet my dietary needs. We have over 10 places where we can get food on campus, so there is never a shortage of options.
Greensboro has some great places to eat at, and because I like pretty simple meals like pizza and burgers, there are plenty of options for that.

Not Very: Usually do not know if exposed

All nuts and seafood (anaphylaxis, airborne and contact, need epi)
All other allergies (mild, hives, contact, need Benadryl)
Details About this Student's College Dining Experience
Does your college handle food restrictions as you expected when you decided to attend?
Totally yes, was what I expected
Have you had a reation from eating in your dining hall?
NO
If Yes, describe each incident and how your school responded
Did you register your food restriction with the disabilities office? If yes, describe
No
Are there resources to help with nutritious, safe dining (e.g. dietician)? If yes, describe
Yes, we have an allergy-free section of our dining hall, and we have a ton of stations to pick from. We have a certified dietician on campus that is constantly interacting with the students and making sure things are running smoothly.
If you were in charge of dining, what would you change? Would your school be open to suggestions?
If I were in charge of dining on campus, I'd extend the hours of the dining hall. I do not think my school would be open to that suggestion in particular because we have other dining options on campus that are open later than the dining hall.
Describe your biggest challenge managing your food restrictions at college and how you deal with it
One of the biggest challenges I've had since being at college is Fish Fridays in the dining hall. I deal with it by choosing somewhere else to eat at instead of the dining hall. It's not that difficult to avoid that area, but sometimes I have to pass through the building, and that is nerve-wracking sometimes because I feel nauseous.

Advice on managing parties or dinners out with friends?
Most parties you go to don't have food there, so just being aware of your surroundings is important, and if you need to step away and take time and space for yourself, you should do so. Dinners out with friends: be sure to advocate for yourself and make it known that you have allergies, especially to the people sitting right next to you at the table. Making it known to the waiter that you have food allergies is very important as well and can help prevent cross-contamination.
