On campus Dining- Plan How many years ago were you diagnosed with celiac? 1-3 How sensitive to gluten are you? Very: React to small amounts How would you describe the worst reaction you have had since diagnosis? Really bad Does your college handle celiac food restrictions as you expected they would when you selected your school? Totally yes, was what I expected Grade your college on feeding celiac students A Explain your rationale for that grade We are a small campus but we have our own gluten free and allergen section, even the vending machines and dining service locations have some type of gluten free option. If there is not a option available for me or that I don't like frozen gluten free meals are available as well Check all that apply My school is small and has only a few dining halls, My school is medium sized and has a fair amount of dining halls, Ability to feed me is pretty consistent across dining halls, I feel comfortable eating at any dining hall on campus, I frequent certain dining halls because they have more options although all are safe, I have great options at all of the dining halls, Ability to eat well was a critical part of my college selection process, I asked alot of questions before I came but the reality was different Did you register with your students disabilities office for accommodations? If yes, describe. No Are there resources (nutritionists, chefs, peer support groups) to help ensure you are receiving safe nutritious food? Describe There are at least 2 or 3 staff around at all times to help, if they don't know they will never guess, they will always help you find what you are looking for How many times have you been glutenized in your dining hall? NONE Describe your biggest celiac challenge at college and how you manage it Finding restaurants around campus that are celiac friendly is a bit hard but not awful If you were in charge of dining, what changes would you implement to better feed celiac students? Places that deliver? Popcorn is a undervalued resource, bring it, live it, love it. Utilize food delivery apps after dining hall hour. Your advice to new celiac kids on preparing before they come?
