New Orleans

"We visited nearly two years ago so I don’t know if these are still open and as accommodating.

Mellow Mushroom is near Tulane and had great gf pizza and seemed aware of food sensitivities/contamination issues.

We also ate at the dining hall of the Tulane Hillel. It’s open to the public and very gf friendly and kosher too! We loved it.

My friend who lives in NOLA brought us to a liquor store where made to order sandwiches were prepared. I don’t remember the name but I do remember they were aware of food issues and we ate well and safely.

Sadly, Cafe Du Monde did NOT have anything gf to eat, so we sipped hot cocoa (it was February) while the non gf in our party enjoyed the beignets. I hope they get with the program and can have frozen treats on hand for tourists who want to spend money and enjoy the views!"

We do not venture far from the hotel due to time constraints but this is where we return to year after year: Osteria 166:  really great Italian food and fabulous salads Merge: just really delicious options Spot coffee: fair prices, good GF wraps and lots of fun coffee drinks (slow service at lunch) Sear: this is more upscale and is in a hotel (often yucky but not this one)  but we always need somewhere to eat Sunday night and she has never gotten sick from their food Patina 250: only had brunch there once but the food was good she had a giant smoothie and some eggs no problems All of these places are within walking distance from the Westin. You probably already know this but around this area it is safe to walk at night but just a handful of blocks towards down town it is not a good idea to walk at night."
